Having a record of all your documents, like CE certificates and how many hours you precepted an NP student, will be useful when submitting your application. There are also fees. If you follow a budget, ensure you have enough funds for renewal and CE fees.[/hen-ui-text][hen-ui-text variant=”b4″]Don’t wait till the last minute like I did to renew your certification. NPs who are ready to retire from professional practice should complete the certification status change request form on AANPCB’s website.[/hen-ui-text][hen-ui-text variant=”b4″]You can either email, fax, or mail the form to AANPCB. AANPCB does not have a retired credential.[/hen-ui-text][hen-ui-text variant=”b4″]ANCC does not allow you to renew or reactivate your certification with a retired examination or portfolio assessment. Certifications two or more years past the expiration date cannot be reactivated. In certain states, NPs can practice without credentials.
